Goodbye Oberammergau, Hello Berchtesgaden

The Linderhof Royal Palace.....leaving Oberammmergau we made a stop at the Linderhof Royal Palace. It is the smallest of the three palaces built by King Ludwig II of Bavaria and the only one which he lived to see completed.
Ludwig liked to be rowed over the lake in his golden swan-boat but at the same time he wanted his own blue grotto of Capri. Therefore 24 dynamos had been installed and so already in the time of Ludwig II it was possible to illuminate the grotto in changing colors.
Part of the outside grounds of the palace.

BERCHTESGADEN
We arrived in Berchtesgaden and are staying 3 days in this private bed and breakfast home called Laroshausl. It is just outside of town in the quiet hills. Hansjorg and Silke are just a driveway away at their campground. It is quite nice and a wonderful. The homeowner even offered to wash our dirty laundry! It's been two weeks so we do need some clean clothes. Guess we will tip her for her services .

A river runs along side of the property.
