Berchtesgadener Land

LAKE KONIGSSEE

The picturesque Lake Königssee ("King′s Lake") in Bavaria is only a few minutes drive from Salzburg. It is situated just across the border, in Germany′s most southern-east corner, in the National Park Berchtesgaden. Lake Königssee is surrounded by some of Germany's most dramatic mountain sceneries.
This is an electric boat that takes you across a narrow lake that is 5 miles long and 650 feet deep. The tour guide plays a trumpet to demonstrate the amazing echo that you can generate on Lake Konigssee due to the rocky cliffs around it.
The Watamann Mountain is the third highest mountain in Germany, and the highest peak standing entirely within Germany. It was first climbed in 1881 and until now over 99 people lost their lives in the process. The climb takes 8-10 hours.

You get off the boat at St. Bartholomä to visit the church and the nearby Beergarden for a lunch called Brotzeit in Bavaria.

This is the St. Bartholomä, a famous pilgrimage church with a small inn nearby, is located on the peninsula about halfway down the western lakeshore.

The fish house: It smokes the fish and sells the fish here
if you care to partake. The pretzels and beer were good.
This was Hansjorg's snack while at Lake Konigssee.
Nobody else wanted to eat the trout! This is a centuries old tradition of offering the catch of the day to those who would like to enjoy the specialities of the lake.
NOT ME!
